This page has been created to contain all posts and updates related to the Texas Gas project for natural gas service in the Manufactured Home Section. As updates become available, a notice will be posted on the main blog and a link to this page will be attached. This will make it easy to find all information on this project in one place.
Update 6/9/23
Good day everyone! Management met with Texas Gas this morning to review the current status of the project. They have experienced some weather delays since they began, but they brought in extra workers to get back on track. Here is a breakdown of where we stand on completion and details of each phase of work. At current pace, completion date in early July is expected!
Also, the Texas Gas contact previously announced, Joe Zamora, is on maternity leave. The new contact is Pete Caballero. His number is 956-357-7807. Any questions about the project should be directed to him.
Phase 1: 100% complete
Dig access points (bell holes) and drill underground to install main line (approx. 3-4 ft down) in the yellow marked areas
Phase 2: 85% complete
Dig access points (bell holes) and drill underground to install main line (approx. 3-4 ft down) in the purple marked areas. Drill service lines for meters in existing customer yards. In some cases, a new meter will be placed ahead of time; in other cases, the old meter will be moved to the new location at time of service connection.
Phase 3: 0% complete
Test all new lines. Backfill any remaining bell holes. Abandon old gas lines, remove any remaining above ground equipment such as risers, vales etc.
Phase 3a: 0% complete
Texas Gas will contact customers to coordinate connection of service to new lines. This may include phone calls to customers directly or even knocking on doors. A notice will be placed on the door of any customers who they cannot get in with during this time. A copy of this notice will be posted on this blog when it becomes available.
Please note: For annual residents who are not in the resort currently, Phase 3a will be completed by Texas Gas upon the customers return to the park.
Update 5/19/23
After a few storm delays over the past few weeks, Texas Gas continues their work and are currently in “Phase 2” of the project (the purple portion of the map shown). They estimate approx 3 weeks for completion of this project. There will be a separate “extension project” immediately after for new customers in the area of Winston and Margaret.

Questions asked and answered:
Q: Will there be interruptions of utility service during this project?
A: Many steps are being taken to avoid interruptions of service, however it is still a possibility. TGS has plumbers and electricians on standby to repair any accidental interruptions. Spectrum is also on site for any cable/internet interruptions caused by this project. Primary work hours are during resort staff hours as well for added support.
Q: Will my lawn or landscape features such as palm trees be affected by this project since the lines are being moved?
A: 80-90% of the work will be boring under the ground (about 3ft deep) via a horizontal directional drill. Only a small 2-3 sq ft hole (which serves as an entry point for the drill) will be dug in certain areas along the new route. They will be returned to their original state once the drilling has been completed. These access holes will not need to be dug at every site.
Q: Where will the meters be relocated to if the main lines are now mainly along the front of the home.
A: Current meters are on the back face of the home, relocated meters we be placed on the side of the homes towards the front corner. In some cases, the meter may not need to be moved at all.
Q: Current customers paid for the installation of a gas line from their home to the meter when they first set up their gas service. Who will be responsible for this portion of the line after the relocation of the gas meter?
A: Included in this project, TGS will be responsible for the relocation of existing customer lines from home to meter. Any new customers will be responsible for the lines from their home to the new meters, same as before. TGS can recommend competitively priced plumbers for this.
Q: If a current gas customer is not home during this project, how will they get their service reconnected?
A: When the customer returns to the resort, call Texas Gas and they will respond with a tech within 24-48 hours to reconnect your service.
Q: Will there be communication during this project on status, delays, completion etc?
A: Primary contact will be via Texas Gas contact phone number; the resort will also be sending out general updates and pictures of progress.
Q: I am an existing customer but I don’t see a line to my home on this map. What do I do?
A: Contact Texas Gas to discuss so they can add your line to the project.
Q: I would like to get gas service to my home, but I do not see a main line anywhere near my site. Who do I call?
A: There is additional cost involved in getting service in an area outside of the project. However, if enough customer requests are received, TGS may be able to absorb a portion of this cost.
Q: I want to install a natural gas generator in case we have another freeze or power outage. What do I do?
A: Contact Texas Gas Service for pricing and location of generator requirements, submit Site modification form to resort management for approval. Do not commence work until approval is received.
Reminder: For your safety, we ask that residents refrain from engaging workers during this project and keep a distance from work areas.
