Mail and package reminders for resort (and hotel)

As we kick off the season into full gear, here are a few reminders about mail and package service at Victoria Palms…

The VP Mail Center only handles packages sent via US Postal Service…all other carriers like Fedex and UPS will deliver straight to your door. UPS sometimes contracts out certain packages to the US Postal Service but those are not as common. It is imperative that you include your name and lot number on all of your mail and packages to avoid delivery issues.

Please click the link below for quick access to the mailroom policy located in the Resort Handbook

What could cause a delay in your mail or packages being received?

There are actually quite a few factors in mail being delayed. Here are just a few examples:

  1. Mail Carrier delivers later than normal – Although our window hours are normally the same, the time in which the packages are delivered varies daily. Over the summer when the USPS had staffing challenges, this happened quite frequently.
  2. No lot number – This happens almost daily. Mail and packages that are not correctly formatted are left to the end of the sorting so that they can be researched further.
  3. Name does not match – If a name does not match the registered mailbox holder(s) on file, it is left to the end of the sorting to be researched further
  4. Holidays – Any time the USPS does not deliver mail for a holiday, the next delivery day will inevitably be much larger and takes more time to sort.
  5. More people in the resort = more time to sort. There are currently over 500 active mailboxes in the resort and that number will reach close to 700 after January 1st. Most mailboxes have more than one recipient registered. We are fully staffed in the mailroom and are working diligently to get mail and packages out in a timely manner.
  6. Damaged or unreadable address – This happens most common in magazines and other periodicals that do not have a hard or protective cover on them. Sometimes covers get torn and addresses go missing.

Has anything changed this season?

Yes! To better serve our resort and hotel customers, and to minimize any delays in delivery, the hotel now has its own registered address for receiving mail and packages for hotel guests.

If you are a hotel guest, please be sure to use the following address for your mail and packages:

Your name (c/o) Victoria Palms Hotel

3309 IH 2 (your room number)

Donna, TX 78537

Missing/loose dog?

A large cream colored dog with a thick collar has been spotted roaming the resort. It does not seem aggressive, but very shy and possibly limping.
