Mail forwarding reminder!
As the season comes to a close, and many of you are preparing to go back north for the summer, here are a few reminders about mail forwarding:
- It is required to fill out a Change of Address form either online or at your local Post Office to ensure that your mail is properly forwarded. The Post Office requires you to do this in person or online so that they can verify your identification. Victoria Palms CANNOT do this for you. Failure to do so will result in your mail not being forwarded correctly and may cause delays in receiving your mail. Please note that Victoria Palms will not be responsible for any lost or delayed mail.
- The ideal time to complete this form is about two weeks prior to your departure, as this is the average amount of time it takes for the change to go into effect at the post office.
- In the event that we receive mail during this transition time, we can attach a forwarding label to your first class mail and return in to the post office for them to hold and forward once the change has gone into effect. Forwarding labels can be purchased at the main office for $1 per sheet, 30 labels per sheet. Please make sure to use the same address that you used on the Change of Address form.
- Only first class mail will be forwarded, no packages or pre-sorted mail. Please do not order packages via USPS that may arrive after you have departed, as they will be returned to sender or denied receipt. Victoria Palms is also not responsible for the packages that are left at your site by third-party delivery companies like Amazon or UPS.
