Friendly reminder: Gate remotes

Good morning all! Just a quick note to remind everyone about gate remotes and the policies regarding them…

Residents and seasonal customers do not need a gate remote to enter the main gate of Victoria Palms. The purchase or rental of gate remotes are optional. Gate attendants are on shift 24/7 and in the cases where the gate is closed and/or they are on patrol, entry is still available via the keypad and access code.

In recent years, gate access security has been a high priority for residents. Because of this, we upgraded the remote system and re-registered all remotes in the resort back in 2020. In many cases, older remotes that no longer worked with our gate system were replaced with brand new ones at no additional cost to owners.

Taking this into consideration, please keep the following in mind:

  • Gate remotes are available for rent to seasonal residents staying with us at least 30 days. These may be rented at the Main Office and require a deposit. All rented remotes must be returned to the Main Office prior to final departure from the resort. The deposit credit can be refunded in full or applied to any outstanding balance. Failure to return your clicker will result in forfeiture of your deposit and the remotes will be deactivated. For security purposes, you will not be able to use them for future stays nor will they be reprogrammed upon your return.
  • Annual residents may purchase remotes to keep for the duration of their residency
  • Remote should be transferred to the new owner in the event the home is sold. If you retain your remote after you have moved out of the resort, it will be deactivated for security purposes.
  • Once purchased, remotes will not be refunded or exchanged after 30 days.
  • Battery replacement is the responsibility of the owner.
  • To maintain integrity of the system, no more than 3 remotes will be issued per site. There are small handful of residents who have more than 3. These are currently grandfathered but will not be reprogrammed or replaced once they no longer function.
  • Under no circumstances will remotes codes be programmed into a vehicle or any other third party transmitter.

Goodbye, Gideon Grill!

Please join us in saying Thank you to Jamie and Sheri Gideon for the past year of exceptional food service. Whether it be the hot dog cart or concession at the ballroom, the food was always hot and delicious. They did a great job of serving the residency here and we wish them well in their new community.

NOTICE: Swift911 Emergency Notification System end of lifespan

Please be advised, the Swift 911 program is coming to the end of it’s lifespan and is being converted to Rave Alert. This upgrade will allow for more functionality and easier usability. Conversion to the new program will occur in the upcoming weeks… more info to come soon.

If you no longer are a resident or no longer want to receive emergency notifications, please text the word STOP to 936-223-3185 to be removed from the distribution. Please do so expeditiously so that your information is not carried over to the new system.

Thank you for your patience while we work to provide more comprehensive notification systems for the resort.

Friendly reminder about site modifications

We recently had a situation where a resident wanted to replace a dead bush on their site. Upon digging, they cut a power line to security lighting near their site, resulting in damage to company property and the possibility of a very dangerous situation for the resident. They did not submit a site modification form and had no authorization to do so.

Please be advised, any and all changes to the physical state of your site, as well as appearance modifications to your home, require an approved site modification form on file BEFORE you can schedule or begin work. If your modification requires digging or installation of a permanent structure such as a shed or concrete, please dial 811 to have your utilities marked off. This will give you a better idea of location availability for your proposed modification.

In accordance with your lease and/or policy handbook, any damages to company property caused by unapproved work will be the responsibility of the leaseholder/renter.

Please refer to your lease and policy handbook for further detail. More information can be found at the link below as well as your policy handbook, pages 49, 56 and 57.

Thank you for following resort policies and keeping Victoria Palms beautiful!
