Spectrum update 3.27.23

Today, Resort Manager Rocky Ramirez met with Spectrum project supervisors to discuss the commencement of the cable internet project in the resort. Preliminary steps were discussed and answers were given to some of the questions that residents submitted.

As we commence this project, here are a few important things that you should know:

  • The install will be handled by Spectrum and their subcontractor, Broadband Telecom Services (BTS)
  • Workers will be identified by safety vests, ID tags and sometimes hard hats.
  • Work vehicles will be identified with logos for Spectrum and BTS
  • Work will be conducted between 8am and 5pm, Monday through Friday and possibly some weekends
  • The majority of work will be boring underground and will follow the same general path as the current cable plant.

For your safety, we ask that residents refrain from engaging workers during this project and keep a distance from work areas. Please do not occupy empty sites, as we will be providing a report of vacant sites to the work crews for them to park their vehicles and equipment. This should minimize congestion on resort streets.

This first preliminary stage will commence in the value section of the resort, beginning with Sherwood Drive. More details to follow.

Here is a brief video that reflects what the process looks like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5fv6DHAnorU

Spectrum Announcement

We are very excited to announce the Spectrum project will begin on Monday, March 27th!  This upgrade is expected to dramatically improve our internet and high definition TV, both in speed and reliability.

Spectrum will begin preliminary work in the resort, beginning with the installation of power supplies and other major components.  You may see a combination of Spectrum workers, as well as other third-party contractors completing this work.

Moving forward, we will release more information as it becomes available. We have created a new tab on the blog specifically for this purpose. It can be found here: https://vpractivities.com/spectrum-project/ As updates are posted, a link to this page will be included. Feel free to save it to your Favorites, and check it as often as you prefer.

If you have any questions about this project, please contact the front office or email Rocky Ramirez, Resort Manager at jesus_ramirez@equitylifestyle.com.

Computer Training News!

The Computer Club Ambassadors and spouses enjoyed a breakfast on March 18 to celebrate the end of another very successful season. We reviewed the activities/accomplishments for the 2022-2023 season and patted each other on the back for “being there” for the residents to assist in either learning more about their devices or trouble shoot to solve issues with their devices. We also produced lots of copies and/or friendship cards and mailing labels.

We thank all the Residents that supported our efforts in any way this past season.

Pictured above: Kneeling in front is Kathy Helgerson and Dee Broadbent. Standing, L-R: Dean Fairbrother, Donna Luther, Pat & Larry Riesselman, Larry Schmitt, Lyne Way-White and Ken Ashton. Two of our Ambassadors could not attend: Mike Roerig and George Arnold.

The Computer Room will remain open during normal hours until March 30, 2023

Gate Remotes Reminder

Security in the resort is a top priority for the residents and management alike. Undocumented sales of gate remotes is a clear security breach and a danger to all.

It has come to our attention that some gate remotes are being sold between individuals in the resort. This is a clear violation of handbook policy and security protocols. Remotes are non-transferable unless included as part of home sale and the transfer is documented during the move in process. More information can be found on pg 16 of the current Handbook

If you sell your remote (or buy a remote) from anywhere other than the front office:

  • You are violating resort policy
  • You may be charged a non-compliance fee
  • You run the risk that it will be deactivated
  • The resort will not be responsible for the functionality of the remote

Gate remotes are not required to enter the resort as we have 24/7 gate crew AND an entry keypad at the front gate.

Gate remotes are a convenience and, in the interest of security, this convenience may be revoked at management discretion. Please respect the security of the resort, your friends and neighbors, and DO NOT buy or sell gate remotes from any sources other than the front office.

Thank you.

Ice/water machine

Please be advised:

Out of an abundance of caution, the ice and water machine has been placed out of service due to water quality issues. This may also affect service in the restaurant. This has been reported to a technician and evaluation will be performed to find a solution.

Thank you for your patience.
